i got the dismemberment mod and ur saber hilt. But im hesitant to DL the open wound mod, cos it might affect my FPS. Since my new pc's power supply died and is getting RMA'd, im on my older pc.

you can get the same effect of the ja mp dismemberment by typing cg_dismember 300 in the console and saving your config

actually cg_dismember 9999999 is maximum effect for dismemberment

g_Dismember

how to get it to work

first this is not a JA+ feature so to get to work you must do the following

server needs g_dismember 300

client: cg_dismember 300

- start game without any mod.
- enter it in console like this seta cg_dismember 300
- quit the game.

now its saved in base/jampconfig.cfg & loaded everytime also with each mod.

this is a base feature so the real cap for the cvar is 300 if you enter any higher number than you will not see the dismemberment the server and client must match.

the client---which is you needs to add cg_dismember 300 to your jampconfig file

If only you could enable the dismember effects serverside and force people to be able to see them without them having to enable it clientside

Most servers use the 300 value though, it usually isn't a problem

the server has what it needs if I put cg_dismember 300 this would just give back errors in the console, this setting is not server side never has been even with the base game.

PostSubject: Info on the meaning of the cg_ cvar   Request for a few addons I_icon_minitimeSeptember 27th 2009, 1:13 pm

the cg_ means client game which does not effect the server all quake engine games use the cvar for clients


Example: the JA+ plugin some of us use is really a cg based plugin it only effects the client not the server without it you will not see players use the animations. all those cool moves that some of you use is the mod. You do not need it to play the server but if you want to use and see the new animations you will need to have it.
